RAILA GETS A BOOST AS LEADERS PROTECT HIM FROM ABABU NAMWAMBA'S LIE

secretary general as he didn't appreciate powers that his antecedent Nyong'o had.

“When Prof Nyong’o was secretary-general, there was no position of secretary of political affairs, there was no director of elections or director of communications. Why were these positions created when I became the secretary-general? The answer is obvious,” said Ababu Namwamba.

Namwamba said he would declare his next political move soon as he had evidently been prompted by the Banyala elders to quit ODM.

ODM National Chairman John Mbadi had, on Sunday, July 3, said that Ababu Namwamba and his associates were allowed to resign from their positions.

"We trust he (Ababu Namwamba) has given serious thought and can remain with his choice… We have not got any letter from him but rather we will sit tight for the abdication letters and react as a party at the ideal time," Mbadi told The Star.

Raila had clearly given Ababu Namwamba a two-week final proposal to choose whether he is staying in the party or not.

On June 21, Ababu Namwamba joined 7 different MPs from Western Kenya locale to openly chastise the ODM administration.

The MPs said that the gathering pioneer and executive had sidelined them and were not including the secretary general in the parties undertakings.

"As ODM pioneers from Western Kenya, we dismiss the relentless propensity in our party to regard us as worthless individuals," they said in a joint articulation.

ODM will probably supplant Ababu Namwamba with Nominated Senator Agnes Zani as the secretary general.
