CORD LEADERS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS ANTI - IEBC PROTESTS

CORD leaders have declared that they have suspended the ongoing anti IEBC Protests which have been seeking the removal of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officers out of the office.

It is however a contingent suspension, as the opposition leaders said However the Government must address certain Demands.

Addressing the press at Capitol Hill in Nairobi on Wednesday May 25, 2016, Senators James Orengo and Johnson Muthama said that CORD pioneers had come this decision to allow room for a dialogue and give peace a chance to avoid more deaths and injuries to Kenyan People.

“We’ve resolved to temporarily suspend the demos against IEBC to give dialogue and peace a chance. If there’s no positive response from the government on structured dialogue demands by June 5th, we will resume,” said Orengo.

They however said that, the suspension of the demos is impermanent, and if the Government neglects to dialogue with them in ten days, they will take to the streets again once more.GO TO THE NEXT PAGE  TO CONTINUE READING>>>
