CORD pioneer, Raila Odinga, Ruto said the achievement of the Jubilee Government through devolution has put the previous PM to disgrace since he didn't trust devolution could work in Kenya. "The Government keeps on giving force to the achievement of devolution and even those were incredulous at first like our companions from the other side have begun to understand this new idea is a runaway achievement," said Ruto. Notwithstanding, Ruto stunned everyone when he proceeded to lie about the 2010 Constitution which introduced devolution, when he said he was among the individuals who made devolution a reality by supporting the 2010 Constitution. He said he demonstrated the 2010 Constitution that achieved devolution, “I am proud of having been in a group with the likes of Meru Governor Peter Munya that fashioned a Constitution that gave us devolution,” Ruto told Merus. However, Ruto’s assertion is a big lie because he was in the NO camp that opposed the Constitution from the beginning especially clauses on land and devolution.
